Step 1: Accreditation

Non-Governmental Organizations in Consultative Status with ECOSOC

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in consultative status with ECOSOC (Special, General, or Roster consultative status) may participate in the FFD4 process. You can check if your organization has consultative status here: United Nations Civil Society Participation – Consultative status

Civil Society Organizations with Special Accreditation or Previously Accredited to International Conferences on Financing for Development

The list of organizations that have:

  • received special accreditation by the United Nations General Assembly for the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development, or
  • have been accredited to the previous international conferences on financing for development held in Monterrey, Doha, and Addis Ababa or to their follow-up processes:

Can be viewed here.

Organizations that have received special accreditation will be invited to register individuals to attend the FFD4 Conference soon.

The accreditation window closed on 21 February 2025. Kindly be reminded that accreditation to other UN Conferences (e.g., COP) does not transfer to FFD4.

If you require further information, please reach out to UNDESA by contacting desa-ffd4.cso@un.orgfor guidance.

Step 2: Register for FFD4

**Note: Registration links for FFD4 will be made available shortly. Please check this site regularly for updates.**

Civil society engagement has been an integral part of the financing for development process since the inaugural conference in Monterrey, Mexico in 2002. Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) participation in FFD is open to all accredited organizations.

Kindly convey any questions to desa-ffd4.cso@un.org.

If your organization is not accredited, here are the available options:

Options to participate for non-accredited organizations:

  1. Participating under the umbrella of an accredited organization
Umbrella organizations may register individuals from their affiliated organizations. If your organization is part of an umbrella organization, please reach out to them directly. The list of previously approved organizations can be found here.
  2. Participating as part of a country delegation
Inclusion in the official delegation of their government.
  3. Expression of interest for non-accredited organizations

If you are not affiliated with an accredited organization and you are interested in attending FFD4, please fill out the Expression of Interest for non-accredited organizations. Please note that submission of the above form is not registration to the FFD4 Conference.

If you require further information, please reach out to UNDESA by contacting desa-ffd4.cso@un.orgfor guidance.

Civil Society Self-Coordination

Over the years, many Civil Society Organizations interested in the intergovernmental process on financing for development have voluntarily joined the Civil Society FfD Mechanism.

In New York, many organizations have chosen to self-organize through the NGO Committee on FfD.

The Civil Society FfD Mechanism is also organizing a Civil Society Forum the weekend before the FFD4 Conference in Sevilla, which will take place on 28-29 June 2025. Click here for more information.
