La asistencia oficial para el desarrollo (AOD) continúa siendo clave para la financiación de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible. Las finanzas públicas internacionales catalizan la movilización de recursos desde otras fuentes, tanto públicas como privadas. A pesar de los compromisos internacionales de los países desarrollados de comprometer el 0,7 % del INB para la asistencia para el desarrollo, la AOD se ha reducido en todo el mundo. La cooperación para el desarrollo ha evolucionado significativamente, con aportes cada vez mayores desde el Sur, el sector privado, las fundaciones, la sociedad civil y los gobiernos locales. Las partes interesadas en la cooperación para el desarrollo necesitarán adaptarse rápidamente al contexto de desarrollo cada vez más complejo y diverso para poder cumplir la Agenda 2030 sin excluir a nadie.
