Financing for Development Dialogues, from Evidence to Action
The Financing for Sustainable Development Office is organizing the Financing for Development Dialogues, from Evidence to Action as part of the preparatory activities for the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4). It is an open invitation to think tanks, universities, research networks and other relevant academic stakeholders to get involved and present to Member States the latest available analysis and a full range of perspectives and policy recommendations from the academic and research communities.
FSDO and other partners will facilitate the organization of expert and technical meetings on these issues, in the form of call for panels proposals to be organized under two separate Financing for Development Dialogues. The first Financing for Development Dialogues, from Evidence to Action took place in New York on 2 December 2024, one day before the 2nd Preparatory Session of the Conference. The call for panels for this first Financing for Development dialogue is now closed. The details for the second Financing for Development Dialogues is yet to be finalized.

The first Financing for Development Dialogues, from Evidence to Action took place in New York and brought together think tanks and academics to discuss evidence-based solutions to the most pressing issues to be addressed at FfD4. The event consisted of 20 panel discussions that facilitated dialogue between researchers and political leaders negotiating the outcome for FfD4, along with more technical panels organized on specific financing policy issues. The academic day also served to share initial findings from the report of the International Commission of Experts on Financing for Development. How to participate?
Organizations that have received special accreditation by the United Nations General Assembly to the First session of the Preparatory Committee for the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development, or that were accredited to the previous international conferences on financing for development held in Monterrey, Mexico, in Doha and in Addis Ababa or to their follow-up processes.
