With the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4) coming soon to Sevilla, Mr. Li Junhua, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, who also serves as the Secretary-General of the FFD4 Conference, has shared compelling a call to action.

In his recent opinion piece published by Devex, he describes the draft outcome document as ambitious — precisely the level of commitment needed to address today’s global challenges.

He also wrote on an SDG blog post, which reinforces a crucial message: “The Sevilla conference can bring the SDGs back on track through commitments to scale up affordable financing and investment and reform the international financial architecture.”

In a video message, he emphasizes that delivering an ambitious financing framework in Sevilla is essential to demonstrate that multilateralism can still deliver meaningful solutions through collective resolve.

These important messages highlight the urgency and opportunity of FFD4 — a critical moment to close the financing gap and accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
