2nd Preparatory Committee Session for FfD4

The Second Session of the Preparatory Committee for the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development will be held in Conference Room 4 of the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 3 to 6 December 2024. The session will provide a platform for Member States and other stakeholders to reflect on the elements paper with a view to sharing priorities and expectations for FfD4 that will feed into the zero draft of the FfD4 Outcome Document.

António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations addressed the First PrepCom in Addis Ababa, saying, “The Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development provides a unique opportunity to tackle these challenges head on. It opens the door for world leaders to adopt ambitious reforms to deliver affordable long-term financing at scale – and deliver the SDG Stimulus. And it presents a unique opportunity to reform an international financial system that is outdated, dysfunctional and unfair.”
