Several key cross-cutting initiatives build on the interactions of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and address critical gaps in their delivery. These include the delivery of social protection and essential public services for all; scaling up efforts to end hunger and malnutrition; establishing a forum to bridge the infrastructure gap; promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization; generating full and productive employment and decent work for all; protecting ecosystems; promoting peaceful and inclusive societies; gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls; children and youth; countries in special situations; and the global partnership for sustainable development. Each of these initiatives can contribute to progress across many SDGs.
