The range and depth of data demands to fully implement the monitoring frameworks for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and financing for development outcomes are unprecedented. The frameworks require data that is disaggregated by income, sex, age, race, ethnicity, migration status, disability, geographic location and other nationally relevant characteristics in order to cover all population groups and leave no one uncounted. The Addis Ababa Action Agenda emphasizes the importance of high-quality disaggregated data for policy making and monitoring of commitments, and it prioritizes capacity building, encompassing a range of commitments.
