Status:The UN IAM team is currently providing technical assistance is to beneficiaries for reviewing the implementation of the multi-year, risk-informed and evidence-based AMAPs. Activities during this phase of the project will help to identify policy constraints, and will also result in the definition of concrete strategies to overcome them. Icon_ProjectSupport

 

 

Sensitization phase:

At the outset, UN DESA / FSDO designs and implements customized online workshops for a mix of central and local government officials in each beneficiary country to sensitize them on the basic tenets of asset management. Workshop participants are introduced to the UN Handbook on Infrastructure Asset Management (available here), and are encouraged to reflect on how the UN toolkit on IAM could be best applied in local contexts.

 

 

Diagnostic assessments:

During this phase we identify local and national governments to customize the UN Diagnostic Tool in line with beneficiary country priorities at local and national levels. As a result, asset management profiles (AMPs) are developed in conjunction with the representatives from local and national governments to identify areas of future intervention. The diagnostic assessments also help the identification of priority assets for future training on sustainable infrastructure asset management.If you are interested in requesting access to the AMPs, please contact us at iamh@un.org, to redirect your query to the local government

On-site workshop:

Taking into account the asset management profiles and the selection of priority areas, UN DESA supports the design and implementation of Asset Management Action Plans (AMAPs) in local governments. These action plans have a strong focus on data, crisis resilience, and preparedness for health emergencies. AMAPs are fundamental for addressing gaps identified during the diagnostic assessments with concrete actions.
