UN Tax Committee laid groundwork for successful term during its 23rd Session
The UN Tax Committee successfully concluded its 23rd session, the first of the 2021-2025 membership. The session was devoted to deliberations on issues of continuing relevance to international tax cooperation and new issues. In each case, the Committee honed in the areas where UN guidance might help ensure tax systems that work for all stakeholders and assist in meeting the Sustainable Development Goals, during the COVID-19 recovery and beyond.
2022 Financing for Development Forum and SDG Investment Fair dates announced
The annual ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development will kick off on 25 April 2022. Over four days, the event will bring together heads of state and government and other high-level participants from governments and international organizations as well as civil society to review progress on the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, the roadmap for financing the Sustainable Development Goals. 2023 Development Cooperation Forum (DCF) to be held 14-15 March in New York
The 2023 Development Cooperation Forum (DCF) High-level Meeting (HLM) will emphasize the human dimension of development cooperation, with a focus on the experiences of people that development cooperation policies and practices are meant to serve. It will provide a critical platform to shape high-impact development cooperation that responds to multiple crises while maintaining a laser focus on rescuing and realizing the SDGs in their totality.
Launch event for Handbook on Carbon Taxation
UNDESA is organizing a virtual panel discussion and launch event on “The Handbook on Carbon Taxation for Developing Countries: a tool to advance countries’ decarbonization efforts and contribute to the commitments of the Paris Agreement”.
