SG Report on trends and progress in international development cooperation

The Report of the Secretary-General on Trends and progress in international development cooperation (E/2023/48) has been published in advance of the 2023 Development Cooperation Forum (DCF), to be held on 14-15 March in New York.  The Report analyzes the state of play and challenges for the most vulnerable countries, communities and people.

Transparency about the actors in economic and financial matters is an essential component in the ability of country authorities to enforce the law, reduce corruption and ensure taxpayers pay all taxes that are due. This DESA Policy Brief (No. 148) argues that increasing the accuracy and transparency of beneficial ownership information is an important component of solutions for reducing tax avoidance and evasion and combatting corruption and money-laundering.
