UN National Workshop on Enhancing an Enabling Environment for Infrastructure Asset Management in Lao PDR

On 19-21 August, FSDO, in collaboration with UNOPS and UNCDF, delivered an in-person National Workshop on Enhancing the Enabling Environment for Infrastructure Asset Management in Lao PDR. During the workshop, 21 participants from ministries, academia, agencies, as well as development banks, identified and prioritized challenges faced when managing their infrastructure assets, as well as potential solutions to overcome them. As a result, through peer-to-peer exercises, a draft roadmap was developed to support practices and policies in support of an enabling environment for effective asset management. The next steps in the country for IAM include the provision of further technical assistance to support local and national governments officially endorse the roadmap and Asset Management Action Plans (AMAPs).
