The Financing for Sustainable Development Office of the United Nations Department for Economic and Social Affairs will host the Workshop on Taxation and Gender on 14 November 2023 in a virtual format. The workshop will take place from 8:00 a.m to 11:30 a.m (New York Time). This Workshop will focus on how tax-related measures can promote gender equality across various dimensions crucial for sustainable development, including social, political, and economic aspects.
The Workshop will also examine the connections between taxation and Sustainable Development Goal 5 (gender equality) and other relevant Sustainable Development Goals. It will explore how these connections can contribute to the development of efficient and effective tax systems to enhance domestic resource mobilization.
The target participants for this Workshop are government officials from the Ministries of Finance, National Tax Administrations, National Statistics Offices, and other relevant government agencies in developing countries who are engaged in fiscal policy matters.
