INFFs taking off through peer-to-peer learning in Africa

More than 300 people from country governments, civil society, and the UN system participated in a workshop on Integrated National Financing Frameworks (INFFs) and Open Budgets for Sustainable Development in Africa. Organized in Abuja, Nigeria by FSDO, in collaboration with UN ECA, UNDP, UNICEF and the International Budget Partnership (IBP), and with the support from the European Union, the Workshop contributed to the enhancement of peer-to-peer exchange learning experiences about national INFF processes.

On 24-25 October 2022, UNDESA, UNOPS, and UNCDF will conduct an interactive online training session over two days to introduce central and local government officials in Kenya to the basics of infrastructure asset management. On 1-2 August 2022, UNDESA, UNOPS, and UNCDF will conduct an interactive online training session over two days to introduce central and local government officials in Nepal to the basics of infrastructure asset management. Expert instructors will introduce participants to some of the basic toolkits in the UN Handbook on infrastructure asset management.

UN entities share their vision for the ISSB standards

Several UN entities have produced a joint statement that puts forward their vision to create a sustainability reporting framework, which is fit-for-purpose and supportive of globally agreed ambitions and goals.

The statement highlights the need for a holistic and forward-looking approach to assessing enterprise value, which would enable a company and its investors to account for uncertainty linked to sustainability risks and opportunities.

Dates announced for 8th Biennial meeting of the Development Cooperation Forum (DCF)

Convened by the President of ECOSOC, the 8th biennial High-level meeting of the DCF will take place on 14-15 March 2023. As the UN’s inclusive global platform to discuss trends and progress in international development cooperation, the 2023 DCF will address frontier issues and emerging challenges and refine ideas for scaling up high-quality and high-impact development cooperation for immediate term recovery and long term resilience building.
