In-person training and peer learning workshop on Infrastructure Asset Management for Central and Local government officials in Lao PDR.

The Financing for Sustainable Development Office (FSDO) at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), in partnership with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), and the Ministry of Finance of Lao PDR, is organizing an in-person Training and Peer Learning Workshop on Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM) in Vang Vieng, Lao PDR, on 14-16 August 2024.

The main objective of the workshop is to train participants on how to implement the UN IAM Toolkit in their local contexts for designing multi-year, evidence-based, and risk-informed Asset Management Action Plans (AMAPs) with concrete actions to close existing gaps determined during the diagnostic assessments, conducted in October-November 2023. After the workshop, the UNDESA-led team will provide technical assistance to the participating local governments to determine implementation challenges and potential solutions to implement their priority actions.
