Online Sensitization Workshop Climate-Resilient Infrastructure Asset Management in Belize (Virtual)

On 10 and 14 November 2025, FSDO and DESA’s DSDG/SIDS Unit delivered the online sensitization workshop that marks the start of the DESA-led project on climate-resilient infrastructure asset management in Belize, organized with the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing and national partners. The sessions introduced the role of IAM in strengthening climate resilience, improving service reliability and expanding fiscal space, and guided participants through the UN IAM toolkits covering diagnostics, data and information, lifecycle planning and enabling policy environments. Discussants highlighted the fiscal risks associated with climate-related disruptions to infrastructure, the need for systematic asset data, and the value of asset management action plans for embedding resilience into routine public-sector practice.
